How do I buy Ancient Arts Yarn?

You have three options! You can come visit us at our store (607 Manitou Rd SE Calgary), or you can buy directly through this retail website, or at one of the locations listed under the Stockists menu.

How can I become a Stockist / Wholesale Customer?

We would love to talk with you about carrying our yarn in your store! Please contact orders@ancientartsfibre.com for more information.

What currency are your prices listed in?

Our website will choose to show you the prices in either $CDN or $USD, depending on your location.

Can I combine my orders?

Yes, if you notify us that you have placed multiple orders we will be more than happy to combine them and refund any shipping differences as appropriate.  Please note that combining orders could lead to a longer wait time depending on when your orders were placed.

Can I make changes to my order?

Please contact us at sales@ancientartsfibre.com with your name and order number and the change you would like to make, as soon as possible after placing the order, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do you wind yarn?

Due to the volume of sales, and the time required, we cannot wind your yarn for you.

What do you mean by “we suggest alternating skeins”?

While we strive for consistency, due to the nature of the hand dye process, variations may exist between (and in some cases within) dye lots. On projects which require multiple skeins, we highly recommend alternating skeins; that is knitting one or two rows from one skein, and the next one or two rows from another skein. This will result in a more uniform appearance in the finished project.

What do you mean by “Dye queue times”?

Our dyed-to-order yarns take up to 3 - 4 weeks for us to dye and ship your yarn. Please note that these time estimates can vary throughout the year due to holidays.

Exchanges & Returns

We are very sorry if you are unhappy with your order, and we want happy customers! Please contact us as soon as possible at sales@ancientartsfibre.com to arrange for an exchange or refund.

  • To be eligible for exchange or refund, all items must be unused, and in the same condition you received them (not wound into a cake or ball).
  • You are responsible for the shipping costs associated with your return, as well as any clearance fees, customs or duty charged upon receipt of your parcel.
  • Please allow enough time for us to receive your package, and we recommend that you use a trackable shipping method. Upon receipt and inspection of your return, we will process the refund or exchange. Depending on your method of payment, it may take a couple of business days for you to see the refund in your account.

How should I wash Ancient Arts yarn?

We strongly recommend washing our yarns in cool water and laying flat to dry.  We do not recommend using wool wash for our yarns.

How do I sign up for your newsletter?

There is a spot on the bottom right corner of every page on the website where you can enter your information and subscribe to our newsletters!
