Yarn Base Information

LACE WEIGHT

Indulgence - 65% Silk/35% Linen
700 meters / 765 yards per 113 gram / 4.0 oz skein
Indulgence is considered either a heavy lace weight or a light fingering weight yarn. The luxurious blend of silk and linen has a beautiful sheen and plenty of drape, perfect for a garment that will just get softer with wear. The yarn colours on Indulgence are softer and more muted as a result of the way silk and linen take the dye.

FINGERING

Revival Fingering - 49% Wool/34% Mohair/11% Nylon/4% Acrylic/2% Silk
400 meters / 437 yards per 100 gram / 3.5 oz skein
Gauge:  28 - 36 sts / 4 inches (10 cm)  US 1 - 2 or 2.25 - 2.75mm
Enjoy this luxury fingering weight yarn while knowing you are enjoying something that is also environmentally conscious! Fibres that used to be wasted during the carding process are now reclaimed and made into a high twist, luxury yarn. The mohair adds a gentle halo, while the nylon and silk give it strength. This yarn base dyes up with stunning results and is a great choice for a large variety of projects thanks to its generous yardage.

Merino/Silk Fingering - 75% SW Extra Fine Merino/25% Silk Light Fingering
400 meters / 437 yards per 100 gram / 3.5 oz skein
Gauge:  28 - 36 sts / 4 inches (10 cm)  US 1 - 2 or 2.25 - 2.75mm
This luxurious yarn is made from extra fine merino and tussah silk. The three ply structure has just the right amount of twist to allow the best qualities of both fibers to shine through, and the resulting fabric is lustrous and bouncy. This decadently soft yarn is perfect for any garments that would be worn next to the skin.

Merino Singles Fingering– 100% Superwash Merino
413 meters / 452 yards per 113 gram / 4.0 oz skein
Gauge:  28 - 36 sts / 4 inches (10 cm)  US 1 - 2 or 2.25 - 2.75 mm
**Not suitable for socks
This yarn is soft, lightweight, warm, and durable, and fantastic for many projects; however, it is not suitable for everyday socks. The pure wool content of this yarn means that it takes dye beautifully, resulting in rich vibrant colours.

Socknado Fingering - 80% SW Merino/20%Nylon
350 meters / 385 yards per 100 gram / 3.5 oz skein
Gauge:  27 - 32 sts / 4 inches (10 cm)  US 1.5 - 3 or 2.5 - 3.25 mm
Our most popular and versatile yarn base is made from top quality merino wool blended with just the right amount of nylon to provide durability. Socknado is suitable for all your crafting needs and for all types of projects - baby clothes, sweaters, shawls, mitts, gloves, and hats, and it is our recommended yarn for knitting long wearing socks. This three ply yarn is soft and strong, and is a joy to knit and wear.

Little Nettle Soft Fingering– 68% SW Merino/32% Nettle
350 meters / 385 yards per 100 gram / 3.5 oz skein
Gauge:  27 - 32 sts / 4 inches (10 cm)  US 1.5 - 3 or 2.5 - 3.25 mm
This unique and eco-friendly blend of merino and nettle results in a yarn that will give your garments beautiful drape, lustre, and stitch definition. Nettle is wrinkle resistant (wrinkles will hang out), it is breathable and temperature regulating, and it is beautiful and stronger than a fine wool. When nettle (plant fibre) is combined with wool (animal fibre), it adds strength and shine. When the yarn is dyed, the nettle does not take up the dye with the same intensity as the merino, and this results in a lovely soft “heathering” effect.
Nettle is a very eco-conscious and sustainable plant fibre which comes from the Common Stinging Nettle plant. It consists of long white fibres that are found deep inside the stem, and they are extracted from the nettle plant in the same way that linen is extracted from the flax plant. However, unlike flax or cotton, nettle does not require the use of herbicides or pesticides, and it requires much less water to grow. Its been used by people for millennia to make yarn, and we see it being used historically for everything from netting to fine woven textiles.

It is available in two sizes of skeins – 50 g and the regular 100g skein. The 50gm skeins are perfect for colourwork projects when you only need a small quantity of an accent colour.
The heritage breed sheep is Manx Loaghtan, found only on the Isle of Mann, and the modern breed is the Punta Arenas from South America. The natural colour of this yarn is a light brown, so it has a heathered undertone when it is dyed, and although it looks rustic, it actually knits up exceptionally soft! This is a great yarn that feels wonderful against the skin, making it suitable for garments like mitts, sweaters and even lace shawls!
