This year for the Holidays, Ancient Arts is doing a Knit-A-Long that’s a little bit different. Most knitters/crocheters/fibre artists have at some time (or all the time) decided that making home made gifts is the way to go. I think we’ve all been there, starting with a great idea and then losing the joy in it due to the the stress.

All of us at Ancient Arts Yarn really love yarn, and knitting, and all things fibre-y. We want to help you keep that joy through, what is for many crafters, the most stressful time of the year.

Sometimes a person just needs a little incentive. A little kick in the pants. Sometimes it’s not enough to imagine your friend or family member opening their gift with excitement and anticipation, their hands trembling as they tenderly peel back the paper you painstakingly wrapped around their gift. The lighting of their eyes as they first see the perfect colour for their garment. The soft, whispery gasp that escapes their lips as they first touch the soft texture of their perfect hand knitted gift. Sometimes THAT IS JUST NOT ENOUGH. We totally get it. We’ve been there.

Our KAL is special. There’s no pressure. It doesn’t matter what you are knitting. It doesn’t matter who you are knitting it for. IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU DON’T FINISH. It doesn’t matter if you finish it in time! We want you to be happy. We want you to enjoy your craft. We want to help take the pressure off.

The Ancient Arts Holiday KAL Support Group is a place where you can show off your project. Ask for help. Commiserate. Complain. We’re here for you. All you have to do to join our KAL is to hang out and talk about your projects-good or bad, finished or not. If you need help, we’re happy to help.

Simply by hanging out and talking, you’ll be entered for fabulous prizes! And to show how little pressure there is, our KAL will be going until January 31st. Because we know that you have the best intentions, but sometimes things get finished a little late, don’t they?
