The Ramate Wrap is inspired by the gorgeous floral textiles and wallpapers designed and printed by William Morris & Co. in the late 1800s. The shawl is shaped to resemble the graceful drape of fine Victorian shawls and is easy to style. Brioche stitch is used to create the intertwining vines found in much of William Morris’s work, and mosaic stitch is used to create a center panel representing a formal English garden. Two-color brioche stitch creates the vining movement through the wings of the shawl, while the center band features mosaic stitch.
This shawl is for advanced (or adventurous intermediate) knitters thanks to the two-colour brioche with increases and decreases on both sides of the work.
The yarn used in this wrap is our exclusive Herlig DK, a special blend of Viking Norwegian wool and Merino wool that is both beautiful and warm. The wrap requires 4 skeins of Herlig DK, 2 skeins of each colour.
The pattern is NOT included with the yarn! You must go to the Interweave website to purchase the pattern.Alternatively, you can purchase the entire Digital copy of Wool Studio XI, by going to their website here.
