Colour of the Month Theme for 2025 - Creativity

February 2025 - Shoreline

Everyone at Ancient Arts loves to visit the sea, and so what better for a theme for February than a holiday at the seaside? Ocean coastlines form the inspiration for our featured colourway Shoreline.

Some of my fondest travel moments come from camping right on the beach on Vancouver Island, and on the Sunshine Coast. When I was a child one could camp on the beaches on the west side of Vancouver Island and places like Long Beach and Combers Beach held so much magic for us! The massive driftwood logs allowed one to spend hours playing games like don't touch the sand, the waves were endlessly beautiful and swimming, while cold, was fun too. Some of the most magical moments on the coast come when the mists roll in off the ocean and everything is shrouded in mystery. Colours are softened, sounds are muffled, and a walk along the shoreline through the trees and grasses all combine to be incredibly beautiful!

The ocean inspires a lot of our colour ways and so we have paired this month's main colourway with three options chosen to both continue the theme, and to harmonize with Shoreline! Corfu, Seafoam, and Old Growth Forest are all coastline inspired too. Corfu is inspired by the Mediterranean Sea around the island of Cofu, Seafoam is inspired by looking at the waters as seen through the foam that forms as waves wash onto the shoreline, and Old Growth Forest is inspired by the old growth forests found near the town of Tofino! Corfu and Old Growth Forest are tone on tone colourways, while Seafoam is a more solid colourway.

We offer a 60-day return and exchange policy from the date of shipment. To be eligible for a return or exchange yarn must be in original condition with label intact and be scent and smoke-free. Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
