There are so many fantastic patterns out there and so many types of yarns called for in them, that the issue of yarn substitution is something every crafter runs into sooner or later. Maybe the yarn in the pattern is discontinued, or is too hard to get, or you don’t like the fibre content or the look and handle and want to use your favourite. Whatever the reason, knowing how to swap yarns opens up a world of possibilities, especially when working with hand dyed yarns in a rainbow of colours.

This class will show you how to use fibre content, yarn structure, and more to find the right yarn for your project that reflects the original design, but that incorporates your personal preferences! You’ll leave this class confident that you can choose yarns that will reduce the risk of project failure due to unsuitable yarn choices, expand your creative choices, and give you the ability to work with a wide range of patterns and yarns!

Class size:Minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 students. Pre-registration is required.

-- Full refunds will be given in the event that a class is cancelled by Ancient Arts or the instructor.

-- We are not able to offer make up classes, so please check your schedule carefully before registering to ensure you are able to attend all sessions.

We offer a one-year return and exchange policy from the date of shipment. We know knitting and crochet projects often unfold over time, and a shorter return window doesn’t always make sense.

Returns requested within the timeframe permitted by the original payment method (typically up to 90 days, and in some cases up to 120 days) are eligible for a refund to the original method of payment. After that period, and up to one year from the shipment date, returns are eligible for exchange or store credit/gift card only.

To be eligible for a return or exchange, yarn must be in original condition with labels intact, and be scent- and smoke-free. Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable.
