Colour of the Month Theme for 2026 - Children's Literature

June 2026 - The Color Kittens

Our June Colour of the Month is inspired by The Color Kittens, which is a children's book by Margaret Wise Brown, illustrated by Alice and Martin Provensen, and published, as part of the Little Golden Books series, in 1949. The story in this book is about two kittens named "Hush" and "Brush," who try to create their favorite color green by mixing the primary colors red, yellow and blue, and black and white. Their attempts lead to pink, orange and purple before finally they try to mix yellow and blue; and in the end almost by accident they successfully create green. At this point Hush and Brush have all the colors they need to paint everything they see around them. This is very exciting, so much so that later when they fall asleep, they dream about the world and see it in lots of colors!

Our suggested pairings for May include Soda Pop, Berry Pretty, C is for Cookie, and The Briny Seas.

We offer a one-year return and exchange policy from the date of shipment. We know knitting and crochet projects often unfold over time, and a shorter return window doesn’t always make sense.

Returns requested within the timeframe permitted by the original payment method (typically up to 90 days, and in some cases up to 120 days) are eligible for a refund to the original method of payment. After that period, and up to one year from the shipment date, returns are eligible for exchange or store credit/gift card only.

To be eligible for a return or exchange, yarn must be in original condition with labels intact, and be scent- and smoke-free. Please note that shipping fees are non-refundable.

Please note that our prices for customers in the USA include tariffs which have been paid on your behalf at time of import, in the event this product is returned or exchanged any tariffs paid are not available for refund or credit towards exchange yarn.
