3 New Patterns For Spring & Introducing the AAY Super Amazing Yarn Club!

Spring has officially sprung, but there’s no need to put those needles and hooks away for the warmer months ahead because there are tons of great reasons to keep stitching! At the top of our own list is the Ancient Arts Yarn SUPER AMAZING Fingering Yarn Club, which will be coming soon! This is our first in-house yarn club, and it’s more than just yarn. Each bimonthly shipment will include a gorgeous skein of yarn, two patterns, and some delicious goodies (both food and fiber related).

Click here for more details on our website, signups will open on May 27, 2016!

Join the Ancient Arts Yarn Super Amazing yarn club!

While you’re waiting, allow us to share the three of the newest designs by George Shaheen of 10 Hours of Less (click here to read our designer interview from earlier this year!). The Early Spring 2016 Mini-Collection includes 3 innovative shawls, of which two are knit and 1 is crocheted, all of which use Ancient Arts Yarn.

Rippled-Rainfall-Scarf-RAVELRY

Rippled Rainfall was knit with one of the colours in our new Denim Collection – it’s shown here in Merino DK in Forever in Blue Jeans. This shawl looks rather complex, but is actually quite simple: it is knit in one piece and features columns of rippled garter framed by bands of cast-on cut-outs. Best of all? It’s worked corner-to-corner, so you can decide the final size as you work!

Gilded-Gasolier-Shawl-RAVELRY

Gilded Gasolier is a striking accessory crocheted in our Merino/Nylon fingering yarn, shown here in Aztec Gold and Under the Sea. This sophisticated shawl is crocheted all in one piece using elegant scalloped lace to create the shoulder-hugging crochet shape. You can also choose to add contrasting chain fringe if you so dare!

Hanging-Hydrangeas-Cover-for-RAVELRY

The collection concludes with Hanging Hydrangeas, knit with our squishy MCN DK, shown here in Water Lily & Water Lily Blue. This eye-catching piece combines elegant trellis lace with swirls of cabled stems culminating in bursts of contrasting blooms. The magic here is in the details: the flowers are joined as-you-work, so there’s absolutely no sewing!
