SUMMER STRAWBERRIES COWL
By Jessie McKitrick
Strawberries are by far my favourite fruit, which was also the case with my Oma. In my kitchen, I have a colander that was once hers, with white enamel, and a strawberry pattern. I think of her whenever I use it and will think of her whenever I wear this cowl to keep me warm, remembering delicious berries on summer days. This cowl can be worn either way up as the surface design forms a palindrome, saving time on the way out the door on a frosty morning!
Cowl is worked in the round, with ribbing at either edge, and featuring stranded colourwork motifs.
