Twisting Waters is an elegant lace shawl that is worked sideways from one tip to the other, with the edging worked at the same time for an all-over lace fabric. The inspiration for this design comes from the sight of water flowing peacefully over pebbles in a river. Every now and then, the moving streams of water twist into long, curving lines. In the attractive body pattern, gently curving lines of twisted stitches mirror the flow of water, while yarn overs add lightness and drape. The leaf edging represents leaves that fall on the water surface and are carried along by the current.
