Cherry Blossom Festival Shawl Pattern

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL KAL PATTERN
by Caroline Sommerfeld

The Cherry Blossom Festival Shawl is inspired by the anticipation and enjoyment of spring festivals to view cherry blossoms. The shawl uses motifs that represent the budding flowers on the trees, the opening of the flowers, and the full blossoms that later drop from the branches leaving fresh spring leaves. In Japan many people take picnics when going to view the flowers, and lanterns are hung in the trees for evening viewing. The lace in this shawl represents those lovely outings and takes us away to a wonderful relaxing day enjoying the beauty of nature!

The shawl uses both Little Nettle Soft and Socknado yarns. The Little Nettle Soft shines like the sun on the petals and is temperature regulating to keep you comfortable on your outing. Socknado is soft and fluffy just like the flowers on the trees!

Finished Size: 190cm / 74.75” wide from tip to tip, 70cm / 27.5” tall/deep at centre

If you wish to knit from your stash, you will need fingering weight yarn.

In Stock Yarns:  We will pick and ship your in-stock yarn as soon as possible, within a few business days. Please note that if your order also includes dyed-to-order yarns you will need to allow up to 1 - 2 weeks for us to dye and ship your yarn.

Working with Hand Dyed Yarn:While we strive for consistency, due to the hand dye process variations may exist between (and with some colourways within) dye lots. Therefore it is important to order sufficient yarn for your project, and if a uniform result is preferred we suggest alternating skeins. We hope that you will value and appreciate the beautiful and unique creations of the hand dye process and are always happy to assist you in working with hand dyed yarns!
