Winter Lake Stole by Caroline Sommerfeld

Featured in the Vogue Knitting Lace! book

This lovely pattern was originally published in the Winter 2019 issue of Vogue Knitting, and was also included in a collection of lace patterns, Vogue Knitting Lace, released in November 2021!

Shown here in Antique, Grannies In Lace, Bien!, and Paperweight - all beautiful colours from our main colour line*.  The slip-stitch lace pattern of this simple but beautiful shawl echo the gentle movement of water in their undulations.  Colours shift from the silver grey of the water in winter to the pink of the sunrise on the horizon.  Four patterns – undulating-waves lace, slip-stitch rib, Bargello slip-stitch fade, and slip-stitch fade band – play out over the Nettle Soft DK hand-painted canvas.

Please choose from the following gradient options all on our Nettle Soft DK yarn base:

Winter Lake Gradient: Containing the colourways Antique, Grannies In Lace, Bien!, and Paperweight
Orchids GradientContaining the colourways Tiny Orchid, Shy Orchid, Spotted Orchid, and Wild Orchid.
Painters Gradient: Containing the colourways Matisse - A Glimpse of Notre Dame, Cezanne - Still Life, Turner - Venice From the Porch, and Morisot - Woman at the Mirror.

Please note that this kit only includes the yarn.  The pattern is only available in the Vogue Knitting winter issue, available in stores and online now.

*There was a small printing error in this issue of Vogue Knitting incorrectly saying that the colourways used were limited edition.  We assure you they are not limited edition colourways, even though some colours were developed with this design in mind.  No need to worry about these amazing colourways going away, we promise you they are sticking around!

In Stock Yarns:  We will pick and ship your in-stock yarn as soon as possible, within a few business days. Please note that if your order also includes dyed-to-order yarns you will need to allow up to 1 - 2 weeks for us to dye and ship your yarn.

Working with Hand Dyed Yarn:While we strive for consistency, due to the hand dye process variations may exist between (and with some colourways within) dye lots. Therefore it is important to order sufficient yarn for your project, and if a uniform result is preferred we suggest alternating skeins. We hope that you will value and appreciate the beautiful and unique creations of the hand dye process and are always happy to assist you in working with hand dyed yarns!
