Done up in our fabulous Lascaux Worsted, the Catch the Wave Hat by designer Samantha MacKay is inspired by Tofino, a surfing destination on Vancouver Island. This quick and fun hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, and features both stranded colourwork and mosaic knitting.
Each yarn kit includes one full skein of the main colourway and two 50 gram skeins for the two contrast colourways.
The pattern is not included in this yarn kit. The pattern can be found in the KnitScene Fall 2019 magazine found here.
When worked according to the pattern we found that we could get 5 stripes instead of 6 as shown, however there will be plenty of yarn included in each kit to add more stripes as desired.
Each kit contains enough yarn to make all three sizes of hat (13.25", 17.25", and 20.5" circumferences).
Kit One: Rill (MC), Indus Valley (CC), Denim 2 (CC) - as seen in magazine.
Kit Two: Amethyst (MC), Scents and Sensibility (CC), Irish Linen (CC).
Kit Three: Cinnamon (MC), Oak (CC, and new colourway!), Fortuitous (CC).
Kit Four: Just Before Midnight (MC), Coral (CC, and new colourway!), Irish Linen (CC) - pictured
Kit Five: Milk Chocolate (MC), Wheat (CC), Nutmeg (CC) - pictured
